Photographers: Ready for Graduations and Prom?
Photographers: graduation and prom season is coming up! Prepare your photo printer for the upcoming busy season by giving it a thorough spring cleaning.
Clean your print head. Maintain the printer by updating drivers and blowing out dust inside the printer with compressed air. Instructions can be found in your printer’s user manual. Drivers and manuals can be found here.
Use your printer in the standard flat position – not standing up with the face on top.
Media should be removed before transporting the printer.
What To Do With Leftover Paper
Do you often end up with excess paper after your printer ribbon runs out? It’s important to note that around 10% extra paper is normal when you change the ribbon, to avoid getting fingerprints on your prints if you change rolls or media sizes. Therefore, it’s essential to replace both the ribbon and paper at the same time to avoid any mismatches that may accumulate over time.
You are not saving any money by using the paper roll to the end – ribbons and paper are only sold together, not separately.
Shipping the Printer
Never ship or transport the printer with media (ribbon or paper) in the printer. Also, make sure to empty the waste tray before shipping. Failure to remove the media may result in internal damage to the printer.
